Agreement to boost photovoltaic adoption

DUPONT and Suntech Power have signed a strategic agreement to help increase the supply of photovoltaic materials and technologies for the growing global market for solar energy.

According to the companies, the agreement focuses on technology advancements, supply chain optimisation cost reduction initiatives, and DuPont Tedlar polyvinyl fluoride film supply.

DuPont and Suntech Power are aiming to achieve faster and broader adoption of solar energy to reduce the world's dependence on fossil fuels, by improving solar technology, reducing costs of solar power and building awareness of its benefits.

According to Suntech, creating higher efficiency solar cells and further extending the long life of solar modules is critical to achieving affordable solar power.

DuPont supplies its Solamet photovoltaic metallisation pastes to help enhance the efficiency of solar cells made by Suntech, as well as Tedlar polyvinyl fluoride film used in protective backsheets for Suntech solar modules.
