Cartier Roadster Watch - The True Identity

Do you or do you know someone who owns a Cartier Roadster watch? Well, the Cartier Company has already proven itself in history as having been able to popularize the wristwatch more than the pocket watch at the turn of the 20th century. In addition to that, Roadster watch still continues to be one of the Cartier's most gorgeous offering.

The Roadster watch's design is inspired by automobiles and cars. But do not be fooled because the Cartier Roadster watch bears no executive marketing attachment with any definite carmaker. To make clear, it is not the official watch of any racing series, furthermore, it is not made up of any high-tech materials. However, one of the high sole intrinsic worth on which the Cartier Roadster is known for are its evocative name and design. A design that is able to benevolently walk the line between sporty and elegant. And because of this, out of all the known car watches, the Cartier Roadster ranks number 2.

Because of this and so many other reasons, the Cartier Roadster watch is considered to be fashionable, lavish and expensive. Due to the popularity you will often hear about replicas being sold in the market. Nobody wants to be fooled by tricks and ignorance. Sadly, a friend of mine was a victim and because of that event he wants to share some tips of how you can identify a genuine Cartier watch from a replica.

First, you need to be armed. Only a dead soldier goes to war unprepared. Here are the basic tools that you will need in your investigation; a magnifying glass, a water dropper, with water of course, a mini screwdriver, and a flashlight. A genuine Cartier will be fairly heavy for the reason that it is made up of stainless steel. So upon the apprehension of the roadster watch, you should first inspect the weight and quality of the watch.

After the weighting process, use the magnifying glass to assess the watch. Now try and look for any signs of tampering, look thoroughly. Watch out for glue or not smooth edges on the Cartier logo. Furthermore, when you look into the dial's surface there should be no dust or fingerprints. Take your time Mr. Detective. When it comes to replicas also be sensitive in the spelling of the logo. Low quality imitations will in general have misspelled "Cartier" or it will have a modified logo.

If your still not convince, try and open the watch's back casing with the mini screwdriver. You will see the word "Cartier" engraved on the inner workings of a true Cartier watch. After the back, look at the face of the watch, notice if the part where the number 3 should be is magnified. Some fake Cartier watches do not at all times have this feature right.

From the front, let us go to the side, at the watch's winder. A Cabochon stone should be found on the winder. If there is no stone, then your watch is a fake. Oh yes, before we forget, Mr. Detective, you should also use the magnifying glass to examine the face of the watch. An original Cartier watch is made with a scratch-proof glass. And this means that there should be no scratches on the surface what so ever.

As for the water dropper, use it to drop water on the surface of the watch's face. The small water should stick together in a bead on the sapphire glass surface. And if it spread across the surface, you should be careful because it may not be real.

And lastly, use the flashlight on the watch's face for some minutes then go into a dark room to observe if the numbers and hands glow. If not, it might be a fake. But never fear because not all the sellers online or at the stores are fake. All I am saying is that it is better to be sure and safe than sorry and regretful after buying a Cartier Roadster Watch.
